Náš exemplář / Our machine
I have both models in the collection, an Amstrad PPC512 and a PPC640, and both are now fully operational. The PPC640 also has an unusual history, it was used at a shooting range during the 1980s. At some point, two wires were taken directly from the keyboard membrane and connected to an external switch used to flip the targets. This modification damaged one of the conductive traces in the keyboard membrane. I disconnected the wires, removed the old modification and repaired the broken trace with conductive paint. The keyboard works correctly again and I returned the computer to full working condition. The modified membrane and its repair are documented in the photo gallery.
