Both belong to the early generation of true laptop computers, but their architectures differ substantially. The GeoPersona GLT216A uses an Intel 80286 at 12 MHz, 1 MB RAM in a documented base configuration, a 1.44 MB 3.5 inch floppy drive, IDE hard disk and a 10 inch monochrome VGA LCD. Unusually, it provides a standard 16 bit ISA slot, an 80287 socket and a removable rear battery pack. FCC records identify Taiwan's Great Electronics Corporation as the manufacturer of the GLT216A hardware, with final FCC approval dated January 1991. The Sharp PC-4600 uses an 80188 compatible CPU at 10 MHz and 640 KB RAM expandable to 1.6 MB with an EMS card. Its backlit LCD provides 640 × 400 pixels with four grey levels. The PC-4602 has two 720 KB floppy drives, while the PC-4641 combines one 720 KB drive with a 40 MB hard disk.
