Hitachi MB-6880 Basic Master, Japonsko, 1978.
English / Anglicky :
Hitachi MB-6880 Basic Master, Japan, 1978. One of Japan's earliest personal microcomputers was introduced in September 1978. It uses a Hitachi HD46800 compatible with the Motorola 6800 at 750 kHz, 4 KB RAM expandable to 32 KB and 8 KB ROM divided between the monitor and Level 1 BASIC. The BASIC supports integer arithmetic only. Video is monochrome with 32 × 24 text and predefined graphics characters allowing semigraphics of roughly 64 × 48. A built in speaker driven through a 5 bit D/A system allows BASIC programs to generate simple melodies. Programs are stored on an external audio cassette at about 300 baud and file names can be used when saving. Hitachi marketed the machine as a personal computer at a time when that term was only beginning to gain acceptance in Japan. The launch price was ¥188,000.
