Loewe MultiTel-N, Západní Německo, 1988. MultiTel-N není klasický osobní počítač, ale specializovaný terminál pro německou síť Bildschirmtext, BTX. Uživatel se přes telefonní linku připojoval k centrální službě Deutsche Bundespost a zobrazoval stránky podle videotexového standardu CEPT. Systém sloužil pro zprávy, informační databáze, elektronické bankovnictví, objednávky a další interaktivní služby. Klasický BTX používal asymetrické modemové spojení přibližně 1200 bit/s směrem k uživateli a 75 bit/s zpět. Barevná stránka měla textovou a mozaikovou grafiku typickou pro CEPT videotex. MultiTel-N patří do široké rodiny terminálů Loewe MultiTel a Multicom z konce 80. let. Dochované databáze jej datují do roku 1988. Protože se nepodařilo dohledat spolehlivý tovární servisní manuál pro konkrétní verzi N, neuvádím jako jisté CPU, velikost interní RAM ani další parametry, které se mohou lišit mezi příbuznými modely.

Loewe MultiTel-N, West Germany, 1988. The MultiTel-N is not a conventional personal computer but a specialised terminal for Germany's Bildschirmtext, or BTX, network. Users connected over a telephone line to the Deutsche Bundespost service and displayed pages encoded to the CEPT videotex standard. The system was used for news, information databases, electronic banking, ordering and other interactive services. Classic BTX used an asymmetric modem connection of about 1200 bit/s toward the user and 75 bit/s back. Colour pages combined text and the mosaic style graphics characteristic of CEPT videotex. MultiTel-N belongs to Loewe's broader MultiTel and Multicom terminal family from the late 1980s, and surviving model databases date it to 1988. Because a reliable factory service manual for the specific N version has not been located, CPU, internal RAM and other model specific electronics are not stated as certain.
