Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2 128K, Anglie, 1986. První Spectrum vyráběné pod vedením Amstradu používá Z80A na 3,5469 MHz a 128 KB RAM. Šedá skříň obsahuje výrazně lepší klávesnici, vestavěný kazetový magnetofon a dva joystickové porty, takže běžný uživatel už nepotřebuje externí datarekordér ani joystickový interface. Zachován je zvuk AY-3-8912 a režim 48K pro starší software. Proti pozdějším černým +2A/+2B má původní +2 vlastní desku odvozenou přímo od Spectrum 128 a z hlediska kompatibility je mu bližší než modelu +3.

Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2 128K, England, 1986. The first Spectrum produced under Amstrad uses a Z80A at 3.5469 MHz and 128 KB RAM. Its grey case adds a much improved keyboard, built in cassette recorder and two joystick ports, removing the need for a separate tape deck or joystick interface in normal use. AY-3-8912 sound and a 48K mode for older software are retained. Unlike the later black +2A/+2B, the original +2 has its own motherboard derived directly from the Spectrum 128 and is therefore architecturally closer to the Toastrack than to the +3.
