Sinclair ZX80, Anglie, 1980. První domácí počítač Sinclair používá Z80 kompatibilní NEC μPD780C kolem 3,25 MHz, 1 KB statické RAM rozšiřitelné na 16 KB a 4 KB ROM s BASICem, editorem a systémem. Nemá zvuk ani vlastní videočip, obraz vytváří procesor spolu s běžnou TTL logikou. Proto během výpočtu nebo obsluhy kazety televizní obraz mizí. Černobílý výstup nabízí 32 znaků na řádek a blokovou grafiku 64 × 48. Programy se ukládají na externí magnetofon.

Sinclair ZX80, England, 1980. Sinclair’s first computer uses a Z80 compatible NEC μPD780C at about 3.25 MHz, 1 KB static RAM expandable to 16 KB and 4 KB ROM containing BASIC, the editor and system code. It has no sound or dedicated video chip, the CPU and TTL logic generate the picture. The television image therefore disappears while the processor is calculating or handling cassette data. Monochrome output provides 32 characters per line and 64 × 48 block graphics. Programs are stored on an external cassette recorder.
